Upset hopes to find his first title with the new organization.
AD Carry Elias "Upset" Lipp has reached a verbal agreement with Karmine Corp to join the team's LoL EMEA Championship (LEC) squad, according to Sheep Esports sources. Entering the league with one of the biggest European fanbases, KCorp is looking to strike hard with the signing of the famed bot laner.
Upsetting the LEC
Coming to the shock of many, the new organization co-owned by Kamel "Kameto" Kebir and Amine "Prime" Mekri is ready to enter the 2024 competitive season by force through the signing of its bot laner. Coming off its fourth win at the EMEA Masters, the team is ready to welcome another one of the most famous European bot laners under its wings once again.
This move also confirms that current EMEA Masters champion and Karmine Corp AD Carry Caliste "Caliste" Henry-Hennebert will not compete in the LEC this split. Unfortunately for the young bot laner, the LEC was reported earlier in October to have increased its minimum age requirement of 18, which Caliste does not meet.
Despite this, Karmine is now showing that they aren't afraid to look for a strong and experienced player to lead their new squad in winter. With this signing, one can hope that the 17-year-old Caliste will be provided with even more resources to grow as he readies himself for a potential future entry into the LEC.
In the meantime, Upset is now looking to redeem himself after a troublesome 2023 season. Replaced by former KCorp AD Carry Carl Martin Erik "Rekkles" Larsson in the winter split, Upset originally began the year team-less.
Later, the German AD Carry was able to find a home under the wings of Vitality. With his new team, he achieved a 3rd place finish in spring, landing among the best teams in the LEC. Despite this, the team would eventually dwindle down in summer, ending in 10th place in the competition and eventually being eliminated from Season Finals contention despite good results in the 1st half of the year.
Onto the Rest of the Roster
At the time of writing this article, Sheep Esports has not yet received confirmation of other players being locked onto Karmine Corp's LEC roster but, with the signing of top laner Volodymyr "Maynter" Sorokin and mid laner Vladimiros "Vladi" Kourtidis, it is currently being speculated that the team could potentially promote Lucas "Cabochard" Simon-Meslet and Lucas "Saken" Fayard to its roster.
As of yet, only KC's former jungler Jakub "Cinkrof" Rokicki has publicly announced in a heartfelt message that he would be unlikely to join the team in its new LEC endeavors. The future of Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé with KC also remains unconfirmed at this time.
