The 2025 LPL Split 1 kicks off on January 12, and the schedule, along with team groupings and formats, has been officially revealed.

Schedule and Opening Matches

The LPL 2025 Split 1 will officially begin on January 12. The regular phase will run until February 16, offering five weeks of battling. Almost daily matchups will keep fans engaged, with a brief break from January 25 to February 8. The split kicks off with OMG versus Weibo Gaming. Meanwhile, BiliBili Gaming will face EDward Gaming, JD Gaming will battle against Ultra Prime, and Invictus Gaming will face Ninjas in Pyjamas in their first matches. Almost all matches are set to start at 5 pm (10 am CET).

Groups and Format

The 16 teams of LPL 2025 Split 1 have been divided into four groups, determined by their placements in 2024. Each group will consist of four teams, and they will compete in a round-robin format using best-of-five matches. The tournament will feature the Hard Fearless Draft format, meaning each team can only pick a champion once per series. Additionally, side selection for Game 1 will be decided by a solo 1v1 match. Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, while the two last will simply get eliminated from the split. The split winner will qualify for the "First Stand 2025" international event.
