Fourth LFL championship title for Karmine Corp
This Thursday, Karmine Corp Blue emerges victorious in the LFL Flash In, defeating Ici Japon Corp 3-1 in the grand final and securing the LFL's first seed for the EMEA Masters. KCB showcased their dominance throughout the series, proving themselves a step above their opponents to earn the fourth LFL title of the club's history. However, IJC’s journey remains remarkable—rising from LFL Division 2 to LFL finalists in record time and earning their first-ever qualification for the EMEA Masters.
Both teams can now focus on preparing for the EMEA Masters 2025 Winter, a tournament French teams are very familiar with—especially Karmine Corp, a four-time champion. The previous edition’s final was also an all-LFL showdown, featuring BDS Academy against Vitality.Bee.
A controlled final
KCB opened the BO5 with a hard-fought victory before securing a more convincing win in Game 2. The common denominator in both games was their toplaner, Volodymyr "Maynter" Sorokin, who was simply unkillable—boasting a combined 5/0/18 scoreline on Rumble and Renekton. His presence created the necessary space for the rest of the team to dish out damage. Meanwhile, Seo "SlowQ" Ye-bit also delivered a standout performance on Sylas in Game 2, further solidifying KCB’s dominance in the series.
IJC proved in Game 3 that they weren’t just there to make up the numbers, securing a more execution-friendly draft than Karmine’s. Olivier "Prime" Payet struck fear into his opponents with a dominant Blitzcrank performance, while Jeon "Howling" Ho-bin’s Jax sealed the deal, keeping IJC’s hopes alive and giving them some much-needed breathing room in the series. The final game was an all-out bloodbath, with a total of 40 kills—27 of them in favor of KCB.
A challenging journey
Karmine’s botlane pulled out the Nilah-Senna combo, which proved highly effective. Once again, Maynter made his mark on Sion, even securing the first blood on Howling in lane. With this victory, KC claimed yet another LFL trophy—the third for Thomas "3XA" Foucou, who remains undefeated in his last three LFL splits (this one with KCB and two with LDLC OL before moving up to the LEC with SK Gaming). This is also the third shared title for Maynter and Mehdi "Boukada" Lahlou, who previously won both 2023 LFL Division 2 splits with Team du Sud.
Karmine Corp Blue’s journey was anything but easy. They struggled through the group stage, managing only one win out of four games and having to go through a tiebreaker against Joblife and GameWard. However, they found their footing in the Swiss stage, delivering a much stronger performance. In the playoffs, they cemented their dominance by defeating Ici Japon Corp twice in BO5s, ultimately claiming the title and the EMEA Masters' first seed.
