The Rocket League World Champions return to LEC & VCT
Not unfamiliar with League of Legends, Théo "Mew" Ponzoni previously worked as a performance coach for Team BDS during Spring 2022, when the organization only fielded a roster in the French league (LFL). Under his guidance, the team achieved a commendable second-place finish in the league. Following this success, Mew transitioned to coaching Team BDS's Rocket League roster.
This move proved highly successful for Mew, as he helped the team secure victory at the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) World Championship. While Team BDS couldn't replicate a championship win in 2023, they still achieved a strong second-place finish, cementing their status as one of the world's top Rocket League teams.
A Return to League—With VALORANT
After taking a break from competition in 2024, sources tell Sheep Esports that Mew has found a new team for 2025. The French coach will be joining GIANTX as a performance coach, working across both the LEC (League of Legends) and VCT (VALORANT Champions Tour) teams.
Mew has already arrived in Berlin and began collaborating with his new organization on Monday. On Tuesday, GIANTX teased his arrival with a post on X, sparking speculation among fans.
Mew will assume the role previously held by former GIANTX performance coach Luis "Cardonetti" Cardona Recio. Cardonetti departed during the offseason to join KOI as a performance manager for their LEC roster.
