All teams still have their fate in their own hands while two weeks remain
The fifth week of the 2025 LEC Spring Split is coming to an end. After a brief stop in Madrid, the competition returned to Berlin, bringing a bit more clarity to the Playoffs race. Team Heretics took a big step toward securing a top 6 spot by snatching their fourth win of the split against SK Gaming, while Team Vitality secured their second consecutive win, beating Team BDS to move to a 3-3 record in the middle of the standings.

The split standings are tighter than ever. With every team still having two or three games left to play, no one is 100% eliminated yet. At the top of the table, Karmine Corp and Fnatic are looking like the strongest teams, while the rest of the pack remains extremely close, with wildly inconsistent performances. Heretics’ win puts them level with Movistar KOI at 4-3, while Vitality catches up with G2 Esports at 3-3, moving ahead of BDS, which is at 3-4.
Vitality keeps the Playoffs suspense alive
BDS is going to regret this one. They fell 1-2 in a crucial series where a win would have allowed them to create a gap between themselves and their direct rivals in the standings. Instead, they lost to a Vitality team that proved more clutch in teamfights, despite some major mistakes, notably Yasin "Nisqy" Dinçer’s Neeko mishaps in Game 3. Overall, there was a clear difference in the toplane. Joel "Irrelevant" Scharoll struggled, while Kaan "Naak Nako" Okan continued to impress during the laning phase. He currently holds the best statistics among toplaners according to Sheep Stats, being not only the highest damage dealer at his position but also the one with the highest gold per minute in the league.
Just before that, Heretics put on a bit of a showcase against SK. While Game 1 was quite contested with plenty of fights, Game 2 was much more one-sided, allowing Heretics to close out the series 2-0. The team continues to build momentum and once again relies on an outstanding performance from Victor "Flakked" Lirola. Their week-on-week progress is clear to see, and if, now very likely, they secured a Playoffs spot, they could become a real threat even for the league’s top teams. It would also make the rise of Carl "Carlsen" Carlsen and Kamil "Kamiloo" Haudegond to the LEC stage this year all the more impressive.
This weekend was all about Spain, with Movistar KOI and Team Heretics emerging as the big winners. Meanwhile, GIANTX managed to take down G2 live on stage in Madrid, keeping their Playoffs hopes alive. The LEC drama will continue during the penultimate weekend of the split in just a few days, where Fnatic and BDS will already be playing their final two games of the regular season.
