Clozer and Viper were named Players of the Match in their respective games
The fourth week of LCK Round 1-2 has come to an end, and T1 continues to show inconsistency, suffering another setback today against OKSavingsBank BRION, who pulls off a strong performance to boost their chances in the playoffs race. Later in the morning, Hanwha Life Esports kept its momentum going with a seventh consecutive victory, this time taking down one of the league’s top teams, Dplus KIA, in convincing fashion.
T1 Stumbles Between Wins and Losses
Game 1 was mostly controlled by T1, who held a gold lead of over 4,000 at several points. However, BRO’s resilience shone through as they won the critical fight, despite T1 securing the Baron Nashor. They paid a heavy price for it, and a standout performance from toplaner Park "Morgan" Ru-han on Rumble allowed BRO to find an Ace and destroy T1’s Nexus, even though they were behind in gold when the game concluded. T1 bounced back in Game 2, thanks to a strong performance from Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon, who secured a solo kill on his opponent and snowballed to finish as the game’s top damage dealer.
In the final game, T1’s draft proved difficult to execute, primarily built around Viego and three tanks, which left them severely lacking in damage. The BRION took advantage of Byeon "Hype" Jeong-hyeon’s Miss Fortune and Lee "Clozer" Ju-hyeon’s Taliyah, playing around them to secure the win and the best-of-three series. Currently, the BRION sit 8th in the LCK with a 3-5 record, just one win behind 6th place, held by BNK FEARX.
The Gap Begins to Widen
Hanwha Life Esports defeated Dplus KIA in a top-of-the-table clash, further solidifying their position in 2nd place in the LCK, just one win behind Gen.G. The games were generally very close, with the botlane being the battleground for many key fights. In the first game, DK came out on top despite a strong performance from Park "Viper" Do-hyeon, largely thanks to a decisive showing from Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram on Ezreal, who relentlessly bombarded with Mystic Shots.
The second game saw Yoo "Delight" Hwan-joong play a pivotal role on Gragas, contributing to over 90% Kill Participation. With a relatively calm early game, HLE managed to even the series. In the final game, Choi "Zeus" Woo-je and Viper were key to their team's victory, with a well-executed fight around the Baron securing the win. This victory gives HLE a 7-1 record, leaving Dplus KIA in 3rd place with a 5-3 record, tied with Nongshim RedForce.
Next week will see the 9th matches of LCK Round 1-2, marking the end of the first half of the regular season, during which Gen.G will likely finish in first place. LCK matches will resume as usual next Wednesday with NS vs DK and FEARX vs HLE.
