Joblife’s 4th crown in France
This Saturday, August 16, Joblife secured a convincing 3 to 0 victory in the Grand Final of Split 3 in the French Challengers, defeating Mandatory and lifting their fourth national trophy in just two years. Both teams will now represent the league at the EMEA Challengers, taking place at the start of September, from the 1st to the 9th.
Joblife reached the Grand Final after dominating throughout the competition and came in as the clear favorite, facing a Mandatory roster still chasing their first title. With already four lost finals in the past three years, including two against JL, the challenge was looking complicated. Their qualification for the decisive match had already been a struggle, starting with a surprising loss in the opening playoff match against BLX CORP. Mandatory had to fight their way back through the lower bracket, eliminating Karmine Corp Blue Stars and taking revenge against the Benelux squad before narrowly edging out Valiant in a tight 3 to 2 series.
A one-sided match
In the Grand Final itself, it was Joblife who struck first with a crushing performance on Icebox. Led by an outstanding Semyon “purp0” Borchev on Jett, the French organization of Toma “JL Tomy” Abdellaoui was relentless on attack. They only dropped two rounds before closing things out on defense, taking the opening map 13 to 4.
On Ascent, Mandatory started off much better by claiming four of the first five rounds, but the momentum quickly shifted. purp0, unstoppable this time on Chamber, took control of the match once again and allowed JL to head into halftime with a small lead. Once they switched to attack, the Russian continued to shine on his Sentinel and helped his team secure a second win, 13 to 7.
It only took one more map for Joblife to complete the sweep. On Haven, Ryad “sh1n” Ensaad, the former Karmine Corp player, stepped up to lead his squad. JL controlled the game from start to finish, conceding only seven rounds, and with that claimed another VALORANT French championship title, further cementing their dominance on the domestic stage.
