3-2 thriller to conclude the season
After a series of one-sided finals in France, as well as in the DACH and NORTH//EAST regions, Challengers Spain stood out as something of an outlier. DNSTY claimed a hard-fought 3-2 victory over KOI’s academy roster, proving that the Spanish league can still deliver close and dramatic matches. With a format that differs slightly from other national circuits, it is these two teams that will now represent Spain at the EMEA Challengers, taking place from September 1 to 9.
On Wednesday, August 20, the grand final of VALORANT Challengers Spain was played on LAN. Unlike other leagues, here the spots for the EMEA competition were decided only after three regular-season splits. The four teams that had accumulated the most points across the year advanced to a single-elimination bracket to determine the ultimate 2025 champion.
A tournament for the title
In the first semifinal, KOI Fénix, winners of both Stage 2 and Stage 3, made short work of Ramboot Club with a clean 3-0 sweep. On the other side of the bracket, DNSTY also crushed UCAM by the same scoreline, showing strong form for a squad that had spent the season consistently on the podium but had never managed to secure a title.
The grand final, however, finally belonged to them. After falling behind 2-1 following the third map, DNSTY picked up the pace on Haven and Ascent, ultimately closing the series and lifting the trophy. The English initiator Wadir “waddle” Taraki was crowned MVP of the final, posting a positive +11 KDA across the five maps, with 86 kills to 75 deaths and nearly 200 ACS.
