Xerxe’s deal has a special clause in case any LEC team shows interest in him
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, jungler Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Team GO and will be heading to the LFL next season. Xerxe's deal has a special clause in case any LEC team shows interest in him. This is one of the reasons why Xerxe would have decided to go to this team over other options such as Solary. As a reminder, Xerxe is GO's second recruit this offseason, after Head Coach Aymerick “Hairost” Sergeant, as previously reported by Sheep Esports.
Xerxe is a veteran of the EMEA region. He played in the LCS EU and then in the LEC before a stint in the LCS NA in 2021-2022. He came back to the Old Continent to play the 2022 Summer Split with Astralis, then he joined Excel for the 2023 season, on a five-star roster on paper. But after a disastrous Winter and Spring, Xerxe was replaced and demoted from League of Legends Tier 1 for the first time since 2016, to play in the ERL.
An excellent 2024 season in LVP
After one split with Giants in the Superliga, Xerxe joined Los Heretics for the 2024 season. He has been one of the most outstanding figures this year in the LVP. The Romanian jungler would have been one of the key pieces of the success of Los Heretics and a great architect of the national double title in 2024. Despite not having achieved the expected results in the EMEA Masters, the year has been more than successful and his contract with the Spanish organization came to an end this year.
With a new direction for the academy and the signing of Théo “Sheo” Borile by the Heretics LEC team, Xerxe had to find a new home for next season with a clear direction, the LFL. Solary and Team GO have therefore been the two options for the Romanian jungler, since both teams had Xerxe as their first priority. Although, at first, it seemed that Solary would take him, a last-minute turn of events caused Xerxe to give the verbal agreement to Team GO.
His deal has a clause that has become very fashionable in recent offseasons in the ERL which would allow him to break the deal if an LEC team made an offer for the Romanian jungler, which Solary was unwilling to offer him. The LFL is picking up speed when it comes to player negotiations after missing out on several number-one picks and we should soon see more signings from the teams that we will be updating you on.
