MONSTEERR reached the VCT Ascension EMEA 2023 but was ultimately defeated by the eventual tournament champions, Gentle Mates.
A few days ago, Sheep Esports revealed the first two pieces secured for KOI’s academy project. Today, December 10, Sheep Esports sources have verified a verbal agreement between Ondřej "MONSTEERR" Petrů and KOI. MONSTEERR is set to join Olizera and Head Coach Yaba, as reported by Sheep Esports earlier this week. The project seems to be taking shape, with both players bringing the experience and ambition needed to aim for a successful season.
Though MONSTEERR has played for Team Heretics and Giants in the Tier 2 space, he is best known for his time with Acend, where he competed in the VCT in 2022. Later, he dominated the VALORANT Challengers 2023 East league with Acend, winning both splits 3-0. However, he fell short of achieving ultimate success in the Ascension tournament, finishing third after losing to Gentle Mates.
KOI’s academy project is progressing every day — as the team finalizes its decisions, Sheep Esports will continue to report on its roster. KC Academy, another team with a massive fanbase and a newly established academy project, will also soon start finalizing its roster.
The establishment of academy teams is a novelty for 2024. So far, three teams have committed to these initiatives, providing a secondary roster for scrimming and cultivating emerging talent ready to step into the top-tier competition if needed.
