Swiffer is set to be an assistant coach in the LTAN next year.
Simon "Swiffer" Papamarkos has reached a verbal agreement with Team Liquid to join the team as an assistant coach ahead of the 2025 season, according to Sheep Esports sources. Swiffer has been SK Gaming's LEC head coach for three years, seeing generally middling results with flashes of brilliance — two third-place regular season finishes and a first-place regular season finish are impressive results, but the team consistently failed to capitalize on its potential in the bracket stage.
Team Liquid's current assistant coach, Kim "Reignover" Yeu-jin, is exploring options in the offseason — he may remain with the team, but at the moment his competitive future is uncertain.
TL won coaching staff of the split this Summer after winning the LCS trophy in Spring — Head Coach Jake "Spawn" Tiberi, Assistant Coach Reignover, and Head Analyst Haitham "Haitham" Algbori received a lot of credit for the team's development and dominance this year.
Swiffer brings years of coaching experience to TL, with the team hoping to reassert their domestic dominance — after losing to FlyQuest in the Summer finals and at Worlds, TL wants to reestablish their claim to the top of the LCS. A coaching staff upgrade is part of their effort to make that happen.
