SkewMond won the LFL and the EMEA Masters with BDSA in the 2024 Summer
Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan is about to join the best team in Europe. According to Sheep Esports sources, the French jungler has reached a verbal agreement with G2 Esports for the upcoming LEC season. BDS Academy's former jungler has been the player who got the most interest during this LEC offseason. SK Gaming, GIANTX, Karmine Corp, and Team Heretics were also interested in the player. BDS main team made him an offer while G2 were playing Worlds, but SkewMond declined.
With the Samurais, he will take on the heavy responsibility of replacing Martin “Yike” Sundelin, who followed a similar path two years ago. After an impressive 2021 with LDLC OL in the French league, Yike joined the team in 2022 — ever since, G2 have dominated Europe, winning five of the six splits and both Season Finals. In 2023, Yike was even named Rookie of the Year.
Despite G2’s absolute domination in Europe, Yike's departure alongside Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle was driven by the team's lack of international success. This puts immense pressure on SkewMond. G2 can’t do any better in the LEC; this is a roster change aimed at finally breaking through against the world’s top teams. It's a team built for a level of competition SkewMond has never seen. The jungler made his LFL debut with AEGIS in 2023, but that year passed without any notable achievements. So, when he joined BDS Academy in 2024, he raised eyebrows among dubious fans — could a relatively unproven jungler elevate BDSA to title contention?
EMEA Monster
But SkewMond defied expectations in 2024; the Nunu main quickly established himself as one of the best junglers in the league. Although his teammate Polat “Parus” Çiçek also drew much attention, SkewMond was a key part of BDSA’s incredible 15-game winning streak — 12 in the regular season and three in the playoffs — during the Spring Split. Unfortunately, the team faltered at the worst possible moment, losing 1-3 in the Grand Finals to Karmine Corp Blue.
BDS Academy's spring disappointment was quickly erased by their unmitigated dominance in summer. Not only did they avenge their previous loss to KCB in the LFL Summer Grand Final, they went on to win the EMEA Masters trophy. With a meta shift allowing for more diverse jungle picks beyond tanks like Volibear and Maokai, SkewMond showcased his full range, delivering standout performances on champions like Taliyah and Brand. He was statistically the best jungler in the LFL during the Summer Split, earning a rating of 74/100 according to Sheep Stats. SkewMond led the charts in several key categories, including KDA, average Gold/Min, DMG/Min, kills, and assists.
Beyond his competitive achievements, SkewMond is also an exceptional SoloQ player. He reached a peak of 1927 LP in Season 14 and is currently ranked 3rd on the EUW ladder. According to sources, Skewmond and Team BDSA were often scrimming each other last year. Given his impressive resume, SkewMond’s jump to the LEC this offseason seemed inevitable — but G2 isn't a normal LEC team. He must now prove that he belongs among EMEA's best.
