Both players arrive from Nongshim RedForce, in the LCK
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, midlaner Oh "Callme" Ji-hoon and toplaner Baek "Mihile" Sang-hwi have reportedly signed a contract with Misa Esports and will be joining the TCL next season. Both played for Nongshim RedForce in the LCK this year and failed to find good results for their first split in the Korean league, as NS had two eighth-place finishes in both Spring and Summer. On the other hand, Misa Esports are looking to build on their momentum after entering the Turkish League this year — and qualifying for the EMEA Masters’ Swiss Stage — by recruiting two former LCK players.
Turkey, for brighter horizons
Mihile was initially placed as a substitute on the NS roster for Summer Split, but the toplaner came off the bench to replace Park “DnDn” Geun-woo midway through the third week and played all the subsequent matches of LCK in his place. If he was far from the best statistically, it has to be said that the toplaner stepped in in the middle of the season, in a failing team after finding some success in the LCK CL, during Spring 2024 with a third-place finish and Summer 2023, by winning the trophy.
On the contrary, Callme has been replaced by Fiesta after a failed Spring Split, this year. But just like Mihile, he succeeded with NS Academy in Summer 2023, as he was even elected midlaner of the All-CL Team after this split. callme played only one game during Summer 2024 in the LCK, and will now aim to relaunch his career in Turkey.
