Gen.G have completed their roster for next year
Gen.G have finalized their roster for 2024. They will be fielding Toplaner Kim "Kiin" Gi-in, Jungler Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu, Midlaner Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon, AD Carry Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan, and Support Son "Lehends" Si-woo.
This information was initially reported by v.daum.net and later confirmed by sources to Sheep Esports this Thursday.
Peyz and Chovy are the two players remaining with Gen.G from the 2023 roster. While Peyz's retention was somewhat expected due to his existing contract, securing Chovy was a more challenging task. Indeed, the 22-year-old Midlaner became a free agent after his contract with Gen.G expired. Despite rumors of interest from several LPL teams, Chovy has chosen to stay with the Korean organization.
In the jungle, Canyon is a significant addition to the team. According to Korean reporter midnoflash, Canyon emphasized that his salary was not the primary concern; his main goal is to win with Gen.G. This marks a substantial change for the Jungler, as he had spent the past five years with the same organization. Indeed, Dplus KIA was still branded as DAMWON when Canyon began his career there.
Kiin and Lehends are both joining the organization after a year with KT Rolster. This also signifies a reunion between Chovy and Lehends as the support returns to the organization.
Despite their loss to Bilibili Gaming in the Worlds quarterfinals, Gen.G had a highly successful year. The organization emerged victorious in both the Spring and Summer playoffs in the LCK, defeating T1 in both finals. With this rebuilt roster centered around Chovy and Peyz, Gen.G aims to achieve another successful year. It wil be interesting to see how they match against T1 who have retained their full roster for next year.
