The storied analyst joins a new ambitious project.
Former Analyst Jose "F1RE" Maria Iznardo has reached a verbal agreement with Rebels Gaming to be the team's Head Coach in the LVP Superliga Summer Season, sources tell Sheep Esports on Friday. This move will mark the first time the Spanish analyst will take on the role of head coach since 2020 when he coached Misfits Premier in the LFL.
An Ambitious Summer Project
After parting ways with its entire roster, Rebels Gaming is now embracing new aspirations ahead of the Summer Season. During the first half of 2024, the organization struggled in the LVP Superliga, ending in 8th place and failing to qualify for the playoffs. Entering its second year within the Spanish ERL, the organization now hopes to recapture the greatness of its debut, during which it achieved as high as a 3rd-place finish in 2023.
Having initially joined Case Esports at the beginning of the year, F1RE seemingly had a set trajectory ahead of him. Unfortunately, as reported in March, the organization unexpectedly left the Superliga, leaving the storied analyst team with fewer options for the summer split.
Ending the Spring Season in 4th place, the team failed to qualify for the EMEA Masters. Regardless of the results, sources indicate that F1RE received interest from several other teams before signing with RBLS.
Apart from his time in the EMEA Regional Leagues, F1RE has also previously worked for several organizations in major regions, notably Cloud9, Misfits Gaming, CLG, and Astralis.
