Geekay Esports form an Arabian League superteam for 2025
A new superteam may be in the works over at the Arabian League. According to Sheep Esports sources, Geekay Esports has gathered some of the top talents in the MENA region. Toplaner Mohamed "Boda" Yahia looks to be joining midlaner Ahmad "Giyuu" Charif and support Waleed "DeKap" Mohammed Ismail for the 2025 season. All three players have all reached verbal agreements to represent the organization, sources tell Sheep Esports on Monday.
What makes it super?
During the offseason, Boda, Giyuu, and DeKap have garnered significant interest from various LFL and TCL teams. According to many fans and analysts, they are the cream of the crop of the MENA region and many were expecting them to play abroad. However, they have chosen to stay in MENA to push the Arabian League again into the spotlight.
The 18-year-old Boda impressed many fans this year during his time at Nigma Galaxy. Despite low expectations from fans of other regions, Boda and his team managed to reach the top 8 in EMEA Masters Spring, a historic feat for the region. With Giyuu and DeKap, Geekay Esports also took it a step further, placing top 4 in the same tournament. Both players will be re-signing with Geekay for 2025 and with the addition of Boda, are aiming higher than ever before.
It is worth mentioning Dekap even had interest from LEC teams this offseason with GIANTX, SK Gaming, and Rogue checking on his profile. Considering he also had interest from Karmine Corp Blue and Gentle Mates in the LFL, it's not because Dekap is staying home that he didn't have a busy offseason.
A similar roster
With two players re-signing, Geekay's new roster isn't looking very different from this year. While toplaner Cho "Bong" Bo-woong will be replaced by Boda, the team is likely to import a Korean AD Carry as they did this year. Additionally, Geekay are still possibly re-signing jungler Taha "Elramir" Yurdagüven. However, as of now, the roster is looking like as follows:
Geekay Esports' reported 2025 roster:
- Toplane: Mohamed "Boda" Yahia
- Jungle: ?
- Midlane: Ahmad "Giyuu" Charif
- AD Carry: South Korean talent
- Support: Waleed "DeKap" Mohammed Ismail
