Only UNF0RGIVEN will not stay in the roster for the upcoming TCL season
It's a rare occurrence in League of Legends ERLs. According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Papara SuperMassive will retain four players for the upcoming TCL season: toplaner İrfan "Armut" Tükek, jungler Duncan "Skeanz" Marquet, midlaner An "FIESTA" Hyeon-seo and support Mustafa "Carry" Yılmaz. Together, the four players won the Turkish Championship Summer Split in 2024. Even before that, Armut and Skeanz had already won the Winter Split. Head Coach Ömer "Basei" Onay will also remain with the team.
On paper, SUP had an XXL team for the Winter Split, with Ersin "Blue" Göre and Jakub "Jactroll" Skurzyńsk. After dominating their domestic league, despite several frights in the playoffs against Besiktas, Papara SuperMassive arrived at the spring EMEA Masters as one of the main favorites — the club was 5th in our Power Rankings before the start of the competition. But to everyone's surprise, the team failed to make it out of the group stage. Even worse, in the Group of Death (C), Papara Supermassive finished in last place with a narrow victory over Spanish runners-up: Guasones Team.
Aiming for better results regionally
The team then revised its plans, recruiting FIESTA and Carry to replace Blue and Jactroll, and dominated again the Summer Split of TCL. However, SUP struggled in the final — with Dark Passage leading the series 2-0 at the start — but won in the end thanks to a spectacular reverse sweep. At the EMEA Masters, the team did better than in the Spring, but they once again suffered. Papara Supermassive made it out of the Swiss Stage on the edge, with a 4-3 record, to beat our Power Rankings favorites 3-2 in the first round of playoffs (Geekay Esports). The team then fell to Spanish champions Los Heretics in the quarter-finals (0-3).
While the identity of the Turkish team's new AD Carry will be revealed in a report soon, Sheep Esports has no further information as to William "UNF0RGIVEN" Nieminen's future destination at the moment. With four similar players, the team will no doubt not be satisfied with the same results and will be hoping to do better at the EMEA Masters.
