Aegis has found their solo laners for the LFL 2024 Season!
Top Laner Tobiasz "Agresivoo" Ciba and Mid Laner Andrija "Nafkelah" Kovačević have reached verbal agreements with Aegis to join the LFL, according to Sheep Esports sources.
Entering its second year in the LFL, Aegis is looking to make big acquisitions. With two more members locked to its 2024 roster, the team's LFL roster is now almost complete. Earlier last month, Aegis was reported to have found agreements with AD Carry Gian "Hid0" Miguel Caruana and Support Đai-vinh "Veignorem" Lussiez.
The Polish God Aims to Reclaim his Throne
Entering his fifth consecutive year in the LFL, Agresivoo needs no introduction. As a three-time LFL champion and a semi-finalist in the EMEA Masters under the Misfits Premier banner, the Polish top laner is widely recognized by LFL fans as one of the league's most formidable top laners in recent years.
However, Agresivoo has encountered challenges over the past two years. Despite a promising start in 2022, including a second-place finish in spring and a promotion to the LEC with BDS in summer, he has struggled to replicate his ERL success at the highest level. Upon returning to the LFL, BDS Academy faced difficulties, ultimately finishing in fourth and seventh place in the spring and summer splits of 2023, disappointing fan expectations.
Agresivoo now faces a crucial turning point in his career, as he must demonstrate that his performance hasn't declined during his recent time with BDS and that he is still capable of reaching the same level he achieved with Misfits Premier.
An LFL Newcomer in the Mid Lane
While many dedicated LFL viewers may remember Nafkelah from his time with Tony Parker Adequat Academy (LDLC OL Academy) in the LFL Division 2, the Montenegrin player remains the less experienced of the two solo laners.
Under the Fnatic TQ banner in 2023, the 20-year-old mid laner, Nafkelah, achieved respectable results in the LVP SuperLiga. In his first split, he and his team secured a 3rd-place finish in the regular season but fell short against Movistar Riders, who later became EMEA Masters finalists in the summer.
In the second split, the team encountered internal issues stemming from a late off-season start and organizational uncertainties. In addition to this, FNTQ would eventually remove its AD Carry from the roster due to misconduct, requiring Nafkelah to finish the season in the AD Carry position. The team would end its split in 9th place.
Now, the Montenegrin player will finally have his debut in the LFL 1st Division, having fought tooth and nail to arrive to this position.
Readying up for 2024
Last week, former Aegis jungler SkewMond reached an agreement with BDS Academy, meaning that the team is still in search of a jungler to complete its roster.
Nevertheless, AEG's lineup is shaping up to be one of the most unpredictable of this off-season. With veteran players Agresivoo and Veignorem alongside newcomers Nafkelah and Hid0, the blend of young talent and experienced players currently paints an interesting picture for the young French organization.
