A new era for Luminosity
Enthusiast Gaming has announced in early August that it has signed a letter of intent to sell Luminosity Gaming to an entity controlled by its former CEO, Adrian Montgomery, for a reported $1 million USD. The payment format would be a vendor loan to be repaid upon future liquidity events involving the buyer or the acquired assets. Notably, the sale would include GameCo Esports Canada Inc., the parent company of LG’s esports operations, and Omnia Media, which operates a network of partner YouTube channels and manages their monetization.

The sale is not yet finalized, as the definitive agreement still needs to be signed by both parties. According to Enthusiast Gaming’s latest statement regarding the ongoing transaction, certain conditions must also be met before the transfer can be made official.
A project that is still alive
If completed, this move will mark Luminosity’s full exit from the Enthusiast Gaming ecosystem, nearly six years after its acquisition in August 2019, a deal motivated in large part by the Vancouver Titans’ Overwatch League franchise slot. Founded in 2015, the organization has steadily built up a solid competitive reputation over the years, including winning a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major in 2016 with an iconic Brazilian roster.
Luminosity remains highly active in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, boasting some of the biggest names in the scene; SSBU GOAT Leonardo "MkLeo" Lopez Perez and LumiRank #8 Carlos "Sonix" Pérez both play under LG's banner. Their passion for fighting games even led them to sign Dominique "SonicFox" McLean, one of the most dominant players across almost every game in the genre, earlier this February.
The organization also recently expanded into League of Legends, fielding a roster in the NACL that went on to win the Split 1.

According to Enthusiast Gaming, once the transaction is completed, the company aims to shift its focus towards its owned-and-operated platforms such as U.GG, Icy-Veins, and The Sims Resource, as well as its product-based revenue model. For Adrian Montgomery — who served as Enthusiast Gaming’s CEO from August 2019 to March 2023 and still sits on the company’s board — the move represents an opportunity to regain control of a well-established North American esports brand while Enthusiast Gaming closes the chapter on its competitive operations.
