Faker will receive a base skin for Yone and a prestige skin for Sylas, thanks to his MVP title
The T1 skins celebrating their victory at the 2024 World Championship have been revealed: Choi "Zeus" Woo-ji will receive a Gnar skin, Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun will have Vi, Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong will get Varus, and Ryu "Keria" Min-seok has chosen Pyke. Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok will receive two skins as he was named Finals MVP — a base skin for Yone and a prestige skin for Sylas. The skins are scheduled for release in September.
In a recent stream, T1’s AD Carry Gumayusi shared that he wasn’t 100% satisfied with his Varus skin but said “it was okay.” In his view, the Sylas skin is the best-looking, with the others being almost on the same level. These will be the second set of Worlds skins for this T1 roster, having previously earned Jayce, Lee Sin, Orianna, Jinx, and Bard by winning Worlds in 2023. This set will also bring Faker to a jaw-dropping nine in-game skins: SKT T1 Zed in 2013, Ryze in 2015, Syndra in 2016, Risen Legend LeBlanc for the Hall of Legends, both Ahri skins, T1 Orianna from the 2023 Worlds, and now Yone and Sylas to celebrate T1’s 2024 Worlds victory.
A delayed release
The skins will therefore only be released in September, far later than in previous years. In 2024, the skins were released in mid-August, while DRX's came out on June 1, 2023. Years ago, they were released even earlier — in 2019, for example, the skins celebrating Invictus Gaming’s victory at Worlds 2018 were released in April. Many fans in the community feel the skins have taken far too long; this year’s Worlds tournament is only two months away, set to start on October 14 in China and run until November 9.
