The winner and runner-up of the Winter Split will also secure a place in the season’s first EMEA Master
This season, the Spanish League of Legends league — Superliga — is structured into three splits, each following a similar format. Every split begins with a regular season in which the ten teams compete against each other in a single round-robin format, playing nine BO1 matches. After this phase, the top eight teams advance to the Swiss Stage. You can track the progress of the regular season in this article.
In the Swiss Stage, two victories will secure a spot in the playoffs, while two losses will result in elimination. The first round of this stage will be played in BO1, with subsequent decisive rounds shifting to BO3 with the Fearless Draft format. The playoffs will also follow the Fearless Draft format but will be contested in BO5. The two teams that emerge from the Swiss Stage with a 2-0 record will face off in the upper bracket final for a direct berth in the grand final.
The loser of this match will drop into the lower bracket, where the two teams that qualified with a 2-1 record will compete in the lower bracket semi-final. The defeated team will be eliminated, while the winner will advance to face the loser of the upper bracket final. Both finalists will also secure qualification for the first EMEA Masters (EM) of the season.
Final Four to end the season
The LVP is one of three ERLs granted two slots for this edition, a privilege earned through the performance of its teams in recent years. While Spain has not claimed an EM title since Team Heretics' victory in Summer 2022—just before the team's promotion to the LEC—Movistar Riders reached the final in Summer 2023. Additionally, the Heretics academy reached the semi-finals in both the Spring 2023 and Summer 2024 editions.
As a reminder, the ten Superliga teams accumulate points across the three splits based on their performances. The top four teams will meet in Madrid on August 30 and 31 for the Final Four, where the season’s best team will be crowned. Meanwhile, the team with the lowest points total at the end of the year will have to compete in a promotion-relegation tournament against the top teams from the Circuito Tormenta, the league's secondary circuit.
