Shanks was named MVP of the BO5
On Tuesday, the second BO5 of the Mid-Season Invitational 2025 between Anyone's Legend and FlyQuest played out similarly to the one between Gen.G and G2 Esports. FlyQuest came out strong in Game 1, giving hope that the West might stand a chance against an LPL/LCK team and suggesting AL could struggle in their first international showing. But that wasn’t the case—China’s LPL champions completely turned the series around and closed it out with a 3-1 win.

Game 1 was a dominant showing from FlyQuest, who came in with a well-synergized draft. Their combo of Pantheon, Galio, and Orianna ultimates worked perfectly, with Senna providing consistent ranged damage to back it up. Anyone’s Legend struggled to find footing throughout the game, overwhelmed by Fly’s coordination. Still, the LPL champions didn’t lose composure.
The awakening of AL
In Game 2, Anyone’s Legend shifted the series by first-picking Yorick and Trundle—two champions FlyQuest couldn’t counter effectively. Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau’s Mordekaiser pick failed to deliver, getting solo killed by Li "Flandre" Xuanjun, who ended the game 7/0/3 and led in damage. Game 3 followed a similar trend, with Cui "Shanks" Xiao-Jun’s Azir tearing through Fly’s comp. Kacper "Inspired" Słoma’s Viego struggled to get resets, and Twisted Fate at mid lacked impact throughout.
Game 4 saw Lee "Tarzan" Seung-yong shine on Poppy, pulling off several key plays, while Shanks popped off on Aurora to close out the series. Anyone’s Legend now advances to face Gen.G in the Upper Bracket Round on Saturday, July 7 at 2 AM CET. FlyQuest will have to fight for survival in the lower bracket against G2 on Friday, July 4 at 9 PM CET. Up next at MSI, Movistar KOI take on Bilibili Gaming on July 3 at 9 PM CET, followed by T1 vs. CTBC Flying Oyster the same day.
