ShowMaker and Canyon pulled out Cho'Gath mid and Zed jungle — a first in the LCK in over a decade
Week 2 of the LCK Round 1-2 wrapped up with Gen.G edging out Dplus KIA in a thrilling three-game series that saw Heo "ShowMaker" Su and Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu surprise with Cho'Gath mid and Zed jungle — two picks not seen in the league for over a decade. In the day’s second matchup, Nongshim RedForce secured their third win of the split by defeating DRX in a tight BO3. Kim "Kiin" Gi-in picked up MVP honors for the first series, while Kim "GIDEON" Min-seong was named MVP of the second after a strong showing in the jungle.

The highly anticipated clash between Gen.G and DK was played for sole possession of first place, as both teams entered the series undefeated. Dplus KIA came out swinging in Game 1, with Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo once again turning heads — this time with a dominant performance on Jayce. The young toplaner completely controlled the lane and topped the damage charts with ease, playing a crucial role in securing the win. Cho "BeryL" Geon-hee was also impactful, landing key engages on Rakan that helped DK snowball their early advantage into a clean victory.
Game 2 saw a much more back-and-forth contest. Dplus KIA looked to be in control after a strong Herald fight, putting them in a favorable position to close out the series. But Gen.G weren’t done yet — a pivotal fight around the drake, led by Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon and Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk, swung the game around despite their deficit in kills. In Game 3, Kiin's Camille proved decisive. While the gold lead stayed close, Gen.G managed to find a clean teamfight initiated around the Atakan, tipping the scales and sealing the BO3. With this win, Gen.G now stand alone at the top of the LCK.
a good start to the split
Nongshim RedForce are making a strong impression in LCK Round 1-2. After wins over OKSavingsBank BRION and DN Freecs in their first two matches, they logically fell to Gen.G in their third series — but bounced back today to claim a third win, securing second place in the standings. All three games of the day were fairly one-sided: once a team got a gold lead, it never let go. Nongshim’s roster is clearly starting to click, with the experience of Son "Lehends" Si-woo and Hwang "Kingen" Seong-hoon blending well with the energy and talent of their young jungle-mid-ADC core.
Despite their promising 3–1 record, next week could be much tougher for Nongshim, as they’re set to face both T1 and Hanwha Life Esports — two challenging BO3s where they’ll need to prove they deserve their spot near the top. Gen.G, on the other hand, will have a slightly easier path as they go up against BNK FEARX and OKSavingsBank BRION.
