Poby joins Fnatic, replacing Humanoid
Fnatic considered several changes but ultimately made only one ahead of the LEC Summer Split. Marek "Humanoid" Brázda was moved to the team’s inactive roster and replaced by Yoon "Poby" Sung-won. The 19-year-old Korean midlaner joins from T1 Academy, where he competed in the LCK Challengers League and notably played alongside Carl Martin Erik "Rekkles" Larsson.
Despite some consideration, the rest of the roster will remain unchanged. In the toplane, the team has decided to keep Óscar "Oscarinin" Muñoz Jiménez, while Iván "Razork" Martín Díaz will once again start in the jungle—two roles where Fnatic had reportedly explored potential changes. The botlane was the only truly secure part of the lineup, thanks to the strong performances delivered by Elias "Upset" Lipp and Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle during both the Winter and Spring Splits. In the end, only Humanoid was replaced, a move aimed at bringing fresh momentum to a team that had kept the same topside core for years.
An attempt at a six-man roster
As previously reported by Sheep Esports, Fnatic attempted to bring back Martin "Wunder" Nordahl Hansen as part of a six-man roster, where he would have shared playtime with Oscarinin. However, Wunder ended up declining the offer. Other ERL toplaners were also considered, including Volodymyr "Maynter" Sorokin (Karmine Corp Blue) and Baek "Mihile" Sang-hwi (Misa Esports). In Korea, Fnatic showed interest in toplaner Shin "Rooster" Yun-hwan (HLE Challengers), who ultimately joined Team BDS.
Poby began his career in 2021 and has spent its entirety under the T1 banner. He played his first three years in LCK Academy Series with T1 Rookies before being promoted to the Challengers team, T1 Academy, in Summer 2023. That same split, T1’s legendary midlaner Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok suffered an arm injury that sidelined him temporarily, giving Poby the opportunity to step up to the main roster. This is where most fans first got to know him. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t end well — T1 finished the regular season with a 9-9 record and placed fifth overall.
Poby was heavily criticized by fans and the community, especially as the team began winning again after Faker’s return, eventually making it to the Summer Grand Final and qualifying for Worlds 2023, which they went on to win. Following that stint, Poby returned to LCK Challengers in 2024, continuing his development with T1 Academy. During that year, he notably played alongside Rekkles, the former Fnatic legend who had made a role swap to support.

Many fans in the community have repeatedly expressed their desire to see Razork paired with a different midlaner to see what that dynamic might bring — and now, it's happening. The Spanish jungler, widely regarded as one of the best in Europe at his role, will have to build new synergy with a completely new midlaner. In the botlane, Upset has posted phenomenal numbers in the LEC, earning his spot as the league's top AD Carry in several of our Team of the Week selections — and deservedly so. Mikyx has also had strong splits, often leading Fnatic’s engages. The Slovenian support remains just as sharp as he was during his time with G2 Esports.
Aim for the top of the group
For the 2025 LEC Summer Split, Fnatic have been placed in Group B alongside G2, SK Gaming, BDS, and Team Heretics — a group that appears well within their reach. Fnatic are expected to aim for the top of the standings, with G2 being their main rival for first place. However, BDS, TH and SK could also cause trouble, especially considering their Spring Split loss to SK in the regular season. Fnatic are favorites to secure at least a top 2 finish in the group, but the real question will be whether they can go toe-to-toe with G2 within the group and then face off against teams like Karmine Corp and Movistar KOI once the playoffs begin.

- Jungle: Iván "Razork" Martín Díaz
- Mid: Yoon "Poby" Sung-won
