Season 2 was nominated for Outstanding Animated Program and Outstanding Sound Editing for an Animated Program
The acclaimed animated series Arcane, inspired by League of Legends, continues its impressive run across top entertainment awards. Following its celebrated victories at the Annie Awards back in September 2024— where the show previously clinched seven awards for animation excellence — Arcane now adds to its legacy with two major nominations at the 77th Emmy Awards for its highly acclaimed second season.
Arcane's second season has been nominated for two awards at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards: Outstanding Animated Program and Outstanding Sound Editing for an Animated Program, with the sound editing nomination specifically recognizing the series’ season finale. These nominations follow the success of the show’s first season, which in 2022 became the first streaming animated series to win the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program.
A smaller set of nods
Compared to its debut season, which received five nominations and won four awards, Season 2 has a smaller set of nods but remains recognized in key categories. The acknowledgment reflects the show’s ongoing strength in technical execution and storytelling, particularly in animation and sound design.
Earlier in the year, Arcane Season 2 also earned multiple wins at the 52nd Annie Awards, including Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production and Best Direction – TV/Media. These honors reinforce its consistent critical reception within the animation industry. The winners of the 77th Emmy Awards will be announced during the ceremony on September 14, 2025.
