BDS Academy's new AD Carry in the LFL
The transfer market of the Ligue Française de LoL (LFL) is in full swing, and teams are gradually completing their ranks to prepare for 2024, which promises to be once more, very intense. Among these reinforcements are players little known to the French audience, who have spent the majority of their careers away from the hexagon, and whom French fans will discover throughout the upcoming season. Over the next few weeks, we will present you an overview of these new faces who will showcase the extent of their talents within the current best ERL in the circuit. Today, we present to you:
Tim "Keduii" Willers, ADC, BDS Academy
Despite not having made a name for himself in France yet, Keduii has already been a star of the ERLs for several years. The German ADC has regularly been approached by organizations within the LEC in recent seasons, to the extent that there would even be a clause in his agreement with BDS Academy allowing him to break it in case of an offer from a top-tier European team, as reported by sources close to Sheep Esports.
As will be explained below, the 23-year-old AD Carry has surely earned his spot among the bests in Europe. Present in the scene since 2018, Keduii has impressed fans since the start of his career in his home region. After a brief stint with ALTERNATE aTTaX, he was picked up by SK Gaming, a legendary structure in European League of Legends, to be part of the team's return to the German scene after years of absence. Alongside Mads "Doss" Schwartz, among others, Keduii immediately played a leading role in Germany, finishing 2018 with 8 top finishes in the 11 tournaments played by the team.
Already finding success at a young age, Keduii, however, was not part of SK Gaming's plans when the team moved up to the LEC in 2019. The player still remained within the structure, joining SK Gaming Prime, the German academy that continued to vie for top positions in its domestic competitions. Keduii came close to glory in the European Masters, where SK Prime made a remarkable journey from the Play-Ins to the finals, where Misfits Premier defeated them 3-0.
In the summer, Doss was noticed by the LEC and joined Misfits, leaving Keduii without his duo after they had been playing together for a year now. Unfortunately, his summer split would not go well, with the loss of Doss greatly affecting the team's performance. Finally, in early 2020, Keduii decided to try his luck elsewhere and joined the Ultraliga, also known as the Polish league.
With Piratesports, the season did not go as planned, and Keduii was even benched before the end of the regular season, not even participating in the playoffs with the team. He then tried to bounce back in Spain, in the LVP SuperLiga, but the result was worse: with BCN Squad, Keduii finished 9th in the Spanish league.
The German ADC found salvation at home when he returned to Germany with BIG, which was building a very ambitious project. Coached by Danusch "Arvindir" Fischer, who kept Steven "Reeker" Chen by his side for 2021, Keduii found himself in a very ambitious team that dominated the Prime League that year. BIG won both German titles and even reached the semi-final of the EUM Summer 2021, where they narrowly missed defeating the powerhouse Karmine Corp, the double winner of the competition in the same year.
Buoyed by his success, Keduii decided to venture abroad again in the Summer of 2022, this time with much better performances: he reached the SuperLiga finals with Giants but collapsed against Heretics. Finally, he returned to his roots in 2023, joining the team that first revealed him: SK Gaming Prime. With a team resembling a super-team, Keduii dominated the year, being the cornerstone of his team that finished second and then first in Germany.
Even in EMEA Masters, Keduii had interesting runs, reaching the semi-final in Spring and the quarter-finals in Summer, but still no European title. Nothing, however, can tarnish his excellent year, which has garnered interest from the LEC, the European elite.
At BDS Academy in 2024, he will reunite with several of his former teammates. Firstly, Janik "JNX" Bartels, his top-laner last year at SKP, but also Reeker and Arvindir, who helped the German ADC take a step in his career in 2021. Everything seems to be in place for Keduii to discover the LFL in the best conditions, so he can prove within the best of the ERLs that he deserves a place among the elite European ADCs.
