"I thank Solary for welcoming me [...], and GameWard for recruiting me"
Defeated on February 7th by BK rogue on the first day of LFL days, Peng, current GameWard jungler, looks back on his match, his season, and his evolution after leaving Solary. Currently in 7th place in the LFL spring split 2024, tied with Aegis and Solary, GameWard is redoubling its efforts intending to reach the Play-offs.
Sheep Esports: Hi Peng! Today was the first match of LFL days, unfortunately, you lost against BK Rogue, how do you feel after the game?
Obviously, I feel a bit sad but I honestly did what I could at that moment, it’s passed already. I did my best I think, I could for sure have played better, on the laning phase I could maybe carry the game, with the advance I got for myself, but unfortunately cannot concrete. I aim for tomorrow.
We reach the half of the regular season, and GameWard is on 2 – 5, in your opinion can you still compete for the playoff?
As long as it's possible for us, I think we have every chance of getting there. Obviously, I'll be doing everything in my power to succeed, to achieve the goals we've set ourselves for this season. But also, to achieve the goals I've set myself.
You are 19 years old, but this is already your 3rd team in LFL, how are you feeling yourself, still a rookie? or more like a veteran?
I mean, obviously, I'm not a rookie anymore, I'm 19 years old now, soon to be 20, soon to retire ahah. But I don't think I can call myself a veteran either, from my point of view and position it's not how I feel about it.
Now, I think it's fair to consider myself somewhere in between.
So how does that fit into the team? Do you have more of a leadership role?
Yeah, I mean I have more of the qualities usually found in veterans, like I lead my team a little bit, here and there. When certain objectives need to be taken care of, or certain decisions need to be made, I just say let's do it, that's how I work.
GameWard's current roaster is a bit underrated compared to the one you played last year at Solary, which had a lot more attention on it. How do you feel about it, is it less pressure?
Obviously, it's a very different feeling in terms of the fan base, as Solary has a much larger fan community. Now I'm very happy to still be able to play in the LFL it's a chance, I thank Solary for welcoming me the past year, and GameWard for recruiting me to their team this season.
At the moment I'm just enjoying the moment, but if I had to go a bit further, I'd say it's easier to enjoy it at GameWard. I won't say much more than that because it could get me into trouble ahah.
