Guasones rebuilds roster after difficult offsesaon
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, Guasones has closed its entire League of Legends roster for the upcoming Spring Split, which will consist of:
Top lane: Andreas "Banderas" Barril
Jungle: Dušan "Ryuzaki" Petković
Mid lane: Francisco José "Xico" Cruz Antunes
ADC: Jakub "Syzyfek" Bareła
Support: Alf-Kristian "Nash" Sund
THE HEIST
Guasones started the spring split with zero expectations, the team owned by Manute and Ruben García had just returned after a disastrous year where they were relegated and everyone put the team very low in the tier lists. After a heartbreaking 2nd place finish in the regular season and losing in the final against Los Heretics by 3-1, Manute's team knew that keeping the whole roster for the next split would be an almost impossible feat.
Guasones at the beginning of the offseason suffered two very sensitive losses, Muhanad "Spooder" Sharad and Francisco "Thayger" Mazo. Spooder decided to leave for Rebels Gaming after the EMEA Masters in search of a new project and Thayger, being a big consideration for all the changing teams in the jungle, ended up opting to go to Barça eSports alongside Víctor "Oscure" Guzmán Fernández. These movements have also been due to the club's policy of their players having no buyouts; aware that to have that roster during the spring, they could not let them explore offers during the interval between splits, betting on having a more competitive project.
After a series of tryouts and having lost some duels against other Superliga teams for some players’ signatures, the roster under Superliga 2024 Spring coach of the Split, José Miguel "FearlessS" Pinto Lima dos Santos, will consist of:
Banderas
Ryuzaki
Xico
Syzyfek
Nash
The team Pamplona based team will once again base its project on veteran Portuguese Mid Laner Xico, he will have at his disposal a mix of promising young and veteran players looking to surprise their Superliga rivals again.
Andreas “Banderas" Barril comes from Lionscreed, the top laner with dual Spanish and Norwegian nationality and will make his Superliga debut after his time at EMEA Masters.
Ryuzaki is an old veteran of the regional leagues, despite not having had the best split in Aegis, the Serbian jungler will also debut for the first time in the Superliga and will reunite with Xico, as they played together on Polish-Serbian Ultraliga team Zero Tenacity.
Xico and Syzyfek will stay in the project, we already know what both are capable of doing, the veteran Portuguese mid laner being the leader in and out of the game and the Polish ADC one of the big surprises of the league being an explosive and reliable player when needed.
Finally, Guasones will bring an old acquaintance from Superliga Segunda, Norwegian support Nash. Despite having a brief debut in the Spanish second division on Rebels Gaming, he was replaced very early into the season. He will no doubt return in search of his redemption bow.
This movement will be added to our Transfers Hub shortly after the publication of this article.
